Welcome to the
Forget-Me-Knot Quilter's Guild
We're very glad you stopped by for a visit.
Allow us to introduce ourselves...
 |
The Forget-Me-Knot Quilter's Guild is located
in beautiful
Delta Junction, Alaska, nestled between the mighty Delta and
Tanana Rivers near the foothills of the majestic Alaska Range. |
 |
The Forget-Me-Knot Quilter's Guild is
registered with the State of Alaska as a non-profit corporation, entity
134514, and Federal tax exempt 501(c)(7) organization. |
 |
Our guild was established in 1995. Our
mission is to promote the appreciation and knowledge of quilts and the
beautiful art of quilt making. We are fortunate to have a diverse group of
seasoned quilters, as well as new quilters; each bringing their own special
talents and backgrounds to form a unique camaraderie. (In other words, we're
a great bunch of folks). |
 |
Anyone is welcome to attend our regular
meetings and events. Come and see what our guild has to offer. Visitors are
welcome any time. However, if you're interested in becoming a member, we'd
love to have you join us! |
 |

Beside hanging out with a bunch of quilters who love to play
with fabric, here are some of the other benefits you'll receive for joining our
group:
 |
"Scraptalk" our
monthly Forget-Me-Knot Quilter's newsletter, is published and sent to members. |
 |
Your Forget-Me-Knot Quilter's Guild membership card
entitles you to discounts at quilt shops, fabric stores, and our annual
"Spring Fling" and fall quilting retreats. |
 |
Our local, friendly
Calico Cow
Quilt Shop offers classes each month, and has over 1500 bolts of
fabric, quilting books, sewing notions and gift items. Special sales and
discounts are always happening at the Calico Cow, so stop by for a visit and
check it out!
|
 |
Our guild's program calendar has a special project
planned for each month throughout the year. The second Saturday of each
month is "craft day" where we learn a new quilting project or technique.
Craft Day is held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the classroom at the
Calico Cow
Quilt Shop, located on the 2nd floor of the Mt. McKinley Bank building,
1380 Richardson Highway, in Delta Junction. Attendees are welcome to bring a potluck dish to
share. Please join us for a day of food, fabric and fun!
|
 |
Guild business meetings are held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in
the classroom at the
Calico Cow
Quilt Shop, (just prior to the Saturday "craft day" activity). Anyone
interested is welcome to attend our guild business meetings. After business is conducted, we "show and
tell" our latest quilting projects, and then we get started on
Saturday's craft day activity. |
 |
At our annual Christmas party, members who are interested
in participating may draw an anonymous name for a "Secret Quilting Pal" for
the following year. Participants then give gifts to their Secret Quilting
Pal once a month, or on special occasions several times that year. Secret
Quilting Pals are revealed at the end of the year during our Christmas
party.
|
 |
Our very popular annual "Spring Fling" event is held in
March or April, and usually includes a special guest instructor. Quilters
from across Alaska and the lower 48 states have attended past events. The
Spring Fling is guaranteed to be great fun and a wonderful learning
experience with other quilters.
|
 |
Each autumn, we have our "Fall Retreat"
where we spend two days and two nights sewing, eating, sewing, eating, and
sewing some more.... we sure know how to have fun! |
 |
Each summer, our guild sponsors the quilting section in the
Needle Arts Building at the Deltana State Fair in Delta Junction. Also during the
fair, we hold our annual "Silent Auction" fundraiser and guild members make
small wall hangings for the auction. Proceeds from the auction go toward the
guild's operating budget. |
 |
The joy of giving: Each year, our guild raffles off a
beautiful quilt that the members have made. Proceeds from this raffle go
toward purchasing fabric for our "fire quilts." Throughout the year, our
guild sews blocks and provides quilts to local families that have been
victimized by house fires.
|
 |
You get all this...and more! Membership dues are just
$35.00 per year.
